WATCH: Former International Batsman Herschelle Gibbs As A Schoolboy Flyhalf

Former Proteas' batsman Herschelle Gibbs enjoyed a stellar career at the top order of South Africa's batting order but it could have been so different for Gibbs.
A gifted rugby player, Gibbs could have gone into a professional rugby career as a flyhalf.
Gibbs played schoolboy rugby in the Western Cape for Bishops and has often been described as one of the finest SA schoolboy flyhalves of all time.
During an interview on the Dan Nicholl Show in 2016, Gibbs explained that he felt that he wasn't big enough to play rugby professionally but his highlight package do suggest otherwise.
South African broadcaster's SuperSport, released this rare footage of Gibbs where he narrowly misses a 60 metre penalty attempt before scoring a wonderful solo try during the 1992 Craven Week Final.
The likes of former Springbok captain Corne Krige and Springbok centurian Percy Montgomery both featured in the game.

His highlights were certainly impressive as you can see in the clip below with former Springbok great Naas Botha today still considering Herschelle 'the greatest schoolboy rugby player he's ever seen.'
