WATCH: Crazy Japanese show puts shot putter Tom Walsh vs All Black Nepo Laulala in a test of strength

How this epic battle came about is unclear but a Japanese game show somehow organised an awesome battle of strength between New Zealand Olympic star shot putter Tom Walsh against All Black front rower Nepo Laulala. 

The two sportsmen traded words before the battle began with Walsh saying:

"Every boy in New Zealand wants to play for the All Blacks growing up, I did myself as well. He's going to be tough to beat but I think I can take it out," Walsh said ahead of battle.

Laulala trash talk was less complimentary saying:  "Ah, the medal's not going to help him win," Laulala laughed, referring to Walsh's bronze medal at the Rio Olympics.
