Will David Pocock face the All Blacks?

Wallabies head coach Michael Cheika included 'the Breakdown King' David Pocock in his squad to prepare for the opening Bledisloe Cup test against the All Blacks with the flanker missing the opening two rounds of the Rugby Championship with an injury he picked up during the Super Rugby season.

Since his inclusion in the Wallabies squad, the All Blacks have been convinced that the veteran flanker will take the field in Perth this weekend with Sam Cane saying “I expect him to come back and be right in the thick of things”.

However, a report by Chris Doran for Fox Sports suggests otherwise as he states that 'Pocock was never considered for the first Test at Perth’s new Optus Stadium' and that the experienced flanker's availability for the second test against the All Blacks could come down to the result of the first test.

If the Wallabies win, Pocock could come into consideration to line up at Eden Park as the Wallabies go in search of their first Bledisloe Cup triumph since 2002.

If Pocock is named in the Wallabies squad tomorrow, he is likely to takeover the no.8 jersey that is currently occupied by Isi Naisarani, who earned his test debut against the Springboks in Round one of the Rugby Championship.

Naisarani is then likely to take a role on the side of the scrum in place of Lukhan Solokaia-Loto with Michael Hooper captaining the side in the #7 jersey.
