Richard Hardwick

31st May 1994 1.83m/102kg Openside Flanker

Born in Namibia the UWA and Future Force Foundation product made his Super Rugby debut in 2016's Round Six against the Highlanders and went on to play a further three games.

In October 2016, he signed for the Western Force, making his Super Rugby debut against the Highlanders in Dunedin.

He entered the 2017 season with 4 Super Rugby caps under his name.

In May 2017 Hardwick earned his first call-up into the Wallaby squad ahead of their June internationals against Scotland, Fiji and Italy.

Following an impressive start to the 2017 Super Rugby season and his international debut against Fiji, Hardwick signed a contract extension with the Western Force keeping him with the side for the 2018 Super Rugby season.

Hardwick has built his game on tireless defensive efforts and constant pressure on the ball carrier, placing him in the top 10 in the Super Rugby competition for forced turnovers and no doubt a big factor in what caught Wallaby head coach Michael Chieka’s eye.

Hardwick came off the bench to make his Test debut against Fiji and came off the bench again against Italy.

He then missed the Rugby Championship through injury.

In November he signed with the Rebels for the 2018 & 2019 Super Rugby seasons.

He finished the 2019 season having played 12 matches for the side.

Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Hardwick has been named in the squad for Namibia.
