Tom James

17th Apr 1987 1.83m/89kg Left Wing

Rhymney-born James first joined Cardiff in 2006 and went onto establish himself as a key member of the Cardiff Blues squad during his first stint at the region.
James’ initial form for the Blues was so good that Wales selected him for their 2007 tour of Australia, despite the winger having only just turned pro.

He is multi-talented and has represented Wales at 7’s and also ran for Wales in the 1500 metres. James made his Wales debut against England in 2007.

He was top try scorer in the Celtic League in 2007/08 and has made 10 appearances for Wales, scoring tries in both Tests on Wales’ summer tour to America in 2009.

Cardiff Blues confirmed in December 2014 that winger Tom James was to return from Exeter Chiefs to BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park for the 2015/16 season.

The utility player is comfortable at either scrum-half or fullback and will be a valued asset to Blues after signing a long-term deal with the side in September 2016.

James has represented the Blues on 162 occasions, scoring 300 points as he heads into the 2018-19 season.

As of the 2018/2019 Champions Cup, James has had 40 European Cups appearances scoring 10 tries and 50 points.
