Derby born Adam started his rugby at Derby RFC, before joining the Leicester Tigers academy for the start of the 2006/07 season.

After spending 3 years at Leicester Tigers ,Adam was offered a three-month trial at the Saints at the start of the 2009/10 season. He spent time on dual registration at Birmingham & Solihull and was then being dual registered at Coventry.

A further dual registration followed during the 2013/14 season, this time with Moseley, before Adam returned to the Saints, making his first team debut against Newport Gwent Dragons later that season. Adam then spent another spell at Coventry during the 2014/15 season and continued to play in the West Midlands the following season.

In the summer of 2016, Adam signed another contract with the Saints, where he has played regularly for the Wanderers. Adam also played in the 2016 Mobbs Memorial Match.

Northampton Saints confirmed that Adam will be leaving the club at the end of the 2016/17 campaign.
