The Durban born flanker moved to the UK in 2006 to study at the rugby hotbed that is Hartpury College. Pretorius’ form for Hartpury saw him selected for the English Students side as well as Gloucester’s academy. Pretorius, though, opted for Cardiff Blues over Gloucester and made his Blues debut against Connacht in 2009.
