Prinsloo first made his name known in the 2010 Varsity Cup when outstanding performances set up an amazing year with calls up to the Cheetahs Vodacom Cup team, a Currie Cup debut and going on the IRB Sevens World Series with the BlitzBokke. 2012 saw Boom making his Super Rugby debut for the Cheetahs and putting his Sevens career on hold to concentrate on the fifteen-man game.
Prinsloo became a critial part of the Cheetahs forward pack until 2017 when he signed a deal that saw him join the Bulls.
