Manuel Virginio attended The British Schools of Montevideo where he was born and raised (Montevideo, Uruguay).

The 6ft8 lock started his career playing in Uruguay for Old Boys.

Between 2015 and 2017, Leindekar was selected to represent Uruguay at U20 level. He went on to play 7 matches for his country scoring 2 tries.

In December 2015, he went to France to sign a new contract with Oyonnax Rugby in the French Pro D2.

Leindekar made his international debut for Uruguay on 13 May 2017, in a South American Rugby Championship game against Paraguay.

He was selected for Uruguay's 31 man squad for the 2019 Rugby World Cup on 30 August 2019.

After a long stint at Oyonnax (2017-2022), Leindekar played 58 matches for the French Pro D2 team, starting 75% of them before signing for Top 14 team Bayonne in 2022.

In his first two seasons at Bayonne (2022-2023), Lindekar played 19 Top 14 matches and 7 Challenge Cup matches for Bayonne.

Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Manuel has been named in the squad for Uruguay.
