Jansen van Vuren's rugby journey began at a young age, showcasing promise and earning provincial call-ups early in his career. He made his mark in 2009 when he was selected for the Falcons' Under-13 Craven Week side. This early recognition paved the way for his continued development in the sport.

In subsequent years, Jansen van Vuren continued to impress, participating in prestigious competitions such as the Under-16 Grant Khomo Week and the Under-18 Craven Week. His performances caught the attention of selectors, leading to his inclusion in the South African Schools squad in 2013 and 2014. Notably, he played a vital role in their victory over Wales during the 2013 campaign.

Following his success at the school level, Jansen van Vuren joined the Golden Lions academy in 2015, furthering his rugby education. He earned recognition at the national level, being included in the South Africa national under-20 rugby union team for the World Rugby Under 20 Championship in 2015 and 2016.

He represented the Lions in both the Currie Cup and Super Rugby competitions, making a notable impact with his skills and versatility. He gained valuable experience and made a total of 12 appearances in the Currie Cup and four appearances in Super Rugby for the Lions.

Although primarily a scrumhalf, Jansen van Vuren has also shown versatility by playing in other positions such as centre and wing. This adaptability adds to his value as a player and provides further options for his team.
