Michał Lukasz Haznar, born on 17 January 1994 in Windhoek, Namibia, is a Polish rugby union player who currently plays as a centre for Griquas in the Currie Cup and the Rugby Challenge. Haznar was born in Namibia but received his education in South Africa, where he has made a name for himself in the rugby scene.
Haznar's rugby journey began in 2014 when he represented UJ (University of Johannesburg) in the Varsity Cup. He quickly gained a reputation as a strong ball-carrying centre who excels in both defense and finding gaps in the opposition's defense.
After attending Paul Roos Gymnasium, Haznar returned to Stellenbosch in 2015, where he swapped universities and continued to perform for the Maties. His contributions played a significant role in the team's journey to another Varsity Cup final in 2017.
In his senior career, Haznar has played for various teams. He made one appearance for the Golden Lions XV in 2015, followed by a stint with Western Province from 2017 to 2018, where he accumulated 14 appearances and scored 20 points. He also represented Griquas in 2019, making 12 appearances and scoring 10 points. Additionally, Haznar has had opportunities with the Stormers, Western Province, and Griquas.
Haznar's talents and skills were recognized internationally when he made his debut for the Polish national team against Germany in November 2021. His inclusion in the Polish squad highlights his abilities and potential on a broader stage.
