Samipeni Finau, born on 10 May 1999 in Tonga, is a New Zealand rugby union player who currently plays for the Chiefs in Super Rugby.

He primarily operates as a lock or flanker. Finau was named in the Chiefs' squad for round 2 of the 2021 Super Rugby Aotearoa season, marking his inclusion in the team. He also represented Waikato in the 2020 Mitre 10 Cup.

Finau began his rugby career playing as a fullback before transitioning to the loose forwards, showcasing his versatility on the field.

His speed and power make him a formidable player, particularly when operating off the side of the scrum. In 2017, Finau's impressive performances for St Peter's Cambridge earned him a selection in the New Zealand Schools Barbarians team. St Peter's Cambridge also secured the National Co-Ed title during that season.

During the 2021 pre-season, Finau caught the attention of Chiefs co-captain Sam Cane, who regarded him as the team's most impressive player.

Subsequently, Finau made his Super Rugby debut for the Gallagher Chiefs against the Highlanders in 2021.

He started alongside experienced players such as Sam Cane and Luke Jacobson, showcasing his potential and talent at the professional level.
