Beau Robinson

15th Aug 1986 1.81m/97kg Openside Flanker

A former Waratah, Beau took a gamble and moved north in 2011 to resurrect his Rugby career in Queensland.

His fairy tale rise to Australian Rugby stardom was no easy feat but Beau’s magical return from the Rugby wilderness was one of the major success stories from 2011 and, to ice his Super Rugby title triumph, managed to earn selection in the Wallabies initial 40-man squad, where he made his Test debut against Samoa.

Prior to joining the Reds, Beau played in 21 Super Rugby matches for the Waratahs - hemmed in behind Phil Waugh from 2006 to 2009.

A gifted openside flanker, Beau has an uncanny knack for pilfering the ball at the breakdown to match his high work-rate in defence. These abilities weren’t a surprise to McKenzie when he brought the talented No.7 to Queensland, having previously coached him at the Waratahs, including during their 2008 season that culminated in a Super 14 final appearance.
