A breakdown specialist, Daniel Maartens starred for the Shimlas in the Varsity Cup impressing so much so that he earned a place in the Dream Team.
His form caught the eye of the Cheetahs who signed the flanker up and he has gone on to represent the side in the PRO14 and Currie Cup.
