20th Mar 1979 1.81m/106kg Hooker

Played an integral role in the 2011 Rugby World Cup. An experienced player who’s presence on the pitch creates a significant impact in any game he plays. Started his international career at 16 with the New Zealand under 16’s. Captained the Blues in 2006 through a tough Super 14 campaign. His strong running game makes him in effect a fourth loose forward, combined with his ability to throw and scrummage he is a triple threat on the field. He captained the All Blacks against Scotland in 2008 and in 2011 played every super 14 game for the blues, firmly cementing his position as one of the worlds leading front rowers. He is the most capped Super Rugby player of all time and most capped All Black hooker. In 2012 he became only the 3rd ever All Black to earn 100 caps
