Sorenson is a New Zealand born lock who started his professional career at Bay of Plenty. Sorenson was named the best best forward of Bay of Plenty in the 2006 Air New Zealand Cup and signed a deal taking him to English side Newcastle Falcons.
Sorenson played 100 games for Falcons from 2006 to 2010, he then moved to Northampton Saints where he stayed until 2013 appearing in 57 times. Sorenson joined Bristol in 2013 and received a contract renewal in 2016.
The second row decided to hang up his boots after the 2016/17 season.
