Full-time whistle goes here at the Madejski and it's a resounding 40-12 win for London Irish. Amazingly all the scoring was done in the first half with Irish running in six tries. Newcastle couldn't manage to cross the Irish line at any stage, however they managed to stay in touch for most of the first half through the boot of Rory Clegg and were only seven points behind with eight minutes remaining in the first half. Three more tries before the break however from Irish put the game beyond doubt. A real highlight for the victors was the hat-trick scored by exciting winger Andrew Fenby.
