That's Munster gone, they won't get best runner up and neither will Stad. Irish rugby needs to take a long hard looks to irish rugby and ask why are Connaught the best team currently? Academies need to be properly managed and unfortunately we will probably lose our best players overseas no matter what the irish players say about being looked after better here. If they want to play winning rugby they will need to travel abroad and we will have to accept that. If that is the case we will find it difficult to attract decent coaches and foreign players. Our only hope is for a team to punch above their weight as Munster used to do but as the English and French teams are now a lot better than they were 10 years ago this will be difficult. This is not only an Irish problem, Wales, Scotland and Italy all face the same difficulties - European club rugby has become two tiered and we are in the lower tier unfortunately.
