At least they had a chance until the end, Ulster were poor throughout the group

Michael Hambly Jan 1

Great effort. Now they'll be able to concentrate on making top 6 in league.

It's easy to say should have gone for the drop goal at the end but it was the poor play in the first 20 that cost Connacht the game.

What a missed chance..

Disappointment for Connacht as they come up short against Toulouse in their 19-10 defeat at Stade Ernest Wallon. Toulouse shot out to a dominant lead early on, thanks to tries by Fickou and Huget, with Connacht's only response being an attempt at goal by Ronaldson in the first half. However, the game came to life in the second half, with both sides raising their tempo considerably. Muldoon dotted over for Connacht, spurring his side on as they went in search of the losing bonus point which would guarantee qualification. Unfortunately for the Irish province, Toulouse's defense was simply too much as they saw the game out with ease. Today's results means that Wasps qualify top of the pool, facing Leinster in the quarter final, and Toulouse face off against Munster. Thank you for keeping up to date with today's fixture through Ultimate Rugby's live coverage.
