Mefin Davies

A Welsh former international hooker, Mefin Davies, represented a host of clubs including Pontypridd RFC, Celtic Warriors, Gloucester, Leicester and Ospreys.

He made his test debut on 8 June 2002 in Cape Town against South Africa and went on to win 38 caps for Wales and made three appearances at the 2003 Rugby World Cup.

He was also a member of the Wales team that won the 2005 Six Nations Championship and Grand Slam.

In March 2010, he signed for the Ospreys on a two-year deal, after his two stint at the club he ritired from rugby and went into coaching and in June 2012 Davies was appointed Head Coach of Swansea RFC.

On 1 July 2014, he joined the backroom coaching staff at Worcester Warriors, primarily focusing on developing the academy's forwards but also assisting with the senior clubs pack.

He later became part of the first-team coaching set-up and has played a vital role in the development of the Club’s forwards, helping to nurture the likes of Nick Schonert, Jack Singleton and Gareth Milasinovich as well as a whole host of other players who have progressed at Sixways.

In March 2018 he signed a new two-year deal with the Worcester as the Club’s Scrum & Assistant Forwards Coach..

In February 2020 it was announced that Davies would be joining the coaching staff of Guinness Pro-14 side Dragons for the 2020/21 season.
