French front rower Phelipponneau started his professional career with Mont-de-Marsan in 2011.
After just one season in of professional rugby in France Phulipponneau considered retiring after he was not offered a contract extension at the end of the 2011/12 season.
Eventually, Vannes signed the then 23-year-old for the 2012/13 season. He would go on to stay with the club until the end of the 2016/17 season when he signed for Agen.
