Tadhg Beirne is an Irish professional rugby union player who primarily plays as a lock. He was born on January 8, 1992, in Ireland. Beirne has played for several clubs throughout his career.

He began his professional career at Leinster and made his senior debut for the club in 2015. However, due to stiff competition in the back five at Leinster, Beirne made only four appearances for the senior side, with all of them coming off the bench. He mostly played for Leinster's A team and earned 10 caps for them, featuring in the British and Irish Cup.

In 2016, Beirne moved to Scarlets, a Welsh club, where he enjoyed a breakthrough season. He played a vital role in Scarlets' successful 2016-17 campaign, which culminated in them winning the Pro12 title. He continued to excel with Scarlets and was recognized as a key player for the club.

In 2018, Beirne joined Munster, another Irish club, signing a two-year contract. He made his debut for Munster in September 2018 and quickly established himself as a valuable player for the team. Beirne's performances earned him the Guinness Players' Player of the Season award in 2017-18.

Beirne has also represented the Irish national team. He received his first senior international call-up in May 2018 and made his debut for Ireland in June 2018. He has since become a regular member of the national squad, featuring in various competitions such as the Six Nations Championship and Rugby World Cup.

In 2021, Beirne was selected to play for the British & Irish Lions during their tour of South Africa. He made his test debut for the Lions in July 2021, and although he didn't feature in the final test, he made a significant impact during the tour.

Throughout his career, Beirne has showcased his versatility by playing in multiple positions in the back row and second row. His ability to create turnovers and his skills in the lineout have made him a valuable asset to his teams.

Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Beirne has been named in the squad for Ireland.
