Since his debut for Otago in 2002, Morland was a regular player for the province, and has played 36 matches for Otago, scoring 20 points.
In 2004, Morland made 24 impressive appearances for the Highlanders that got him drafted into the Chiefs squad for the 2009 Super 14 season.
He was called into the 2015 Manawatu squad as injury cover and signed on a week-by-week contract.
