Few international props can claim a Rugby World Cup Sevens cap, but then
not many in the game have packed in as much as Latsha had in her career.
She was the first local player to play abroad with a professional contract and
completed her LLB studies at the University of Western Cape in between
rugby and multiple community projects. The cameo role with the Springbok
Sevens Women resulted in her becoming the most capped prop ever for
the Springbok Women, a side she has captained 14 times as well. She has
played professionally in Spain pre-Covid and two seasons with English outfit
Harlequins Women in recent seasons after a storming 2022 Rugby World Cup
in New Zealand, but locals will claim to have seen the best of her in Green and
Gold and domestically, where she played for DHL Western Province. Latsha
has become one of the faces on the growth of the women’s game at home
and abroad, articulating the dynamics and challenges to new audiences in a
sophisticated manner, but still prefers to do her talking in the dark arts of the
game where ‘salads don’t win you scrums’.
