Her talents in rugby came to the fore when selected for the SA Students
and Solontsi followed through on that promise by combining successful
stints with the national teams in sevens and fifteens, where she will
play in her second Rugby World Cup. In between the demands of two
programmes, the former Sharks Women player found time to complete
an honours degree in Sport Science as well as a postgraduate certificate
in Education. After co-captaining the Springbok Women’s Sevens in their
2024 HSBC SVNS campaign, Solontsi recovered in time from injury to be
part of the historic first Rugby Sevens squad to participate in the Olympics
at the Paris 2024 Games. This year, she was a stalwart in the Bulls Daisies
squad that dominated the local provincial competition.
