Hato Pāora College graduate Nikora Broughton had a stand out 2022 U20 tournament and captained the undefeated NZ Barbarians team. Currently in his second year with the Bay of Plenty Steamers, back-rower Broughton, is a rangy and physical loose forward, reminiscent of Highlanders' centurion Elliot Dixon.
Broughton picked up a knee niggle at the end of the 2022 NPC season however is expected to be fighting fit for the start of his debutant Super Rugby pre-season in November.
