Ireland take an 11-9 lead over Scotland into halftime. Both sides missed an early shot at goal, with Scotland keeping the scoreboard ticking over with two penalties to open up a 6-0 lead midway through the half. Ireland got on the board shortly after, but a third Scottish penalty made it 9-3. Scotland then picked up a yellow card 31 minutes in, with the resulting Irish penalty reducing the deficit to just three points at 9-6. Ireland would capitalize on their numerical advantage with a late try seeing them up by two points at the break.
