ARG eve of match (v JPN): assistant coach Bordoy, Cinti, Gallo

Andrés Bordoy – assistant coach

On the match against Japan:

“Now is the time to take everything we have been working on onto the field. We are going to find ourselves with an opponent that really knows what it wants to do, very well structured and organised, and we have to be strong in what we do, aiming to prevail in the set-pieces, in the short game."

“We did an exhaustive analysis and we know Japan's strengths. They have a very experienced front row, with many international matches behind them, who have evolved a lot in this formation. It will be imposing our way and not adapting to what they want to do.”

On the importance of scrum:

"The workload that we have been having since the beginning of the preparation is a lot. We have dedicated time and detail to it. From weekend to weekend we have been growing, both in the scrum and in other aspects of the game.

“The challenge is going to be there. We want to take another step and continue growing. Since the match with England, progress has been made, maybe not as much as some expected, but we are very clear about how we want to do it and the objective is going to be there.”

Lucio Cinti – centre

On the match against Japan:

“It's going to be a lot in the details. They launch their game a lot from the scrum and we are going to have to be focused there. Discipline is going to be a factor.”

About playing in the starting team:

“It is a great responsibility. Luckily it's my turn and I take it, I am representing everyone else. I am very calm and very happy.

“I have a great relationship with (Matías) Moroni, very healthy. We both want a starting position. If it's my turn I have all his support and if it's his turn he has all of mine."

About his mental preparation:

“I prepare calmly, thinking about the day to day and not going forward to the weekend, thinking about what I have to give to the team.”

Thomas Gallo – prop

On the importance of the match against Japan:

“Being in this place is something nice, playing in what will be a round of 16 game. I'm really enjoying it and I can't wait for tomorrow to show on the field everything the team can do.”

About their preparation:

“Among the players we want to put a lot of emphasis on our set-pieces. Japan is a well-organised team. We know very well the work we want to do and that will be seen on the field.”

About his mental preparation:

“I have been preparing the same as for every game. They were all like this one because they were all finals for us. I try to be calm, to study, to know the roles I have to play on the field. Be focused. To know that everything will turn out well tomorrow.”
