Bath Rugby injury update ahead of PREM season

Rory Murray, Bath Rugby's Head of Medical Services, provides an injury update ahead of the opening round of the 2025/26 Gallagher PREM.
Bernard van der Linde
Bernard has undergone surgery following a hamstring injury he suffered during the pre-season game against Worcester Warriors on Friday 19 September. We anticipate Bernard being sidelined until early in the New Year as he undergoes his rehabilitation with the club’s medical team.
Jaco Coetzee
Jaco will be undergo further tests later this week to establish the extent of a contact injury to his left knee during the club’s pre-season fixture at Munster Rugby on Friday 12 September. The club will be in a position to provide a further update in due course.
Ciaran Donoghue
Ciaran suffered an injury to his right knee during the club’s pre-season game against Munster Rugby on Friday 12 September. Ciaran will undergo a surgical procedure later this week to establish the full extent of his injury and the likely length of his rehabilitation with the club’s medical team.
Arthur Green and Will Jeanes
Arthur and Will both suffered concussions during the club's PREM Rugby Cup game against Exeter Chiefs on Saturday 20 September and are undergoing standardised return to play protocols. Both players will, therefore, be unavailable for selection for the game against Harlequins on Friday (26 September).
Will Muir and Ted Hill
Will and Ted both sustained minor injuries during the game against Worcester Warriors on Friday 19 September. Their availability for selection for this Friday's game (26 September) against Harlequins is being reviewed by the club's medical team on a day-by-day basis.
Alfie Barbeary
Alfie is back in training, following rehabilitation from a minor back issue which has seen the player miss the warm-up games as a precaution to ensure he is available for section in the first few weeks of the new season.
Sam Harris
Sam continues his rehabilitation from long-term knee and ankle issues. There is no set date on Sam's return.
