Namibia head coach Allister Coetzee has named his match-day 23 to face France in Pool A at Stade de Marseille, with only six players keeping their places from the starting XV that lost to New Zealand in their last match.

  • Head coach Allister Coetzee has made nine changes to in his starting XV from their last game against New Zealand, with five in the forward pack and four in the back-line. Only Cliven Loubser, Gerswin Mouton, Johan Retief, Johan Coetzee, Prince Gaoseb and captain Johan Deysel have retained their places in the run-on team.
  • Johan Coetzee, Gerswin Mouton, Johan Retief and captain Johan Deysel will be the only four players to have started all three matches at this tournament.
  • If used off the bench PJ van Lill will play his 11th Rugby World Cup match, joining five other Namibians with the second-most all-time – Hugo Horn, Jacques Burger, Tinus du Plessis, Johnny Redelinghuys and Heino Senekal. Eugene Jantjies still holds the record with 14 games.
  • Johan Retief moves to the back-row, where he has started in four of his past six tests. He hit a team-high 15 rucks last week against the All Blacks despite starting in the second-row.
  • He was one of three starting forwards last week, alongside Jason Benade and Richard Hardwick, who did not miss a tackle against the All Blacks, completing all eight attempts.
  • Louis van der Westhuizen makes only his second start of the year after earning three of four caps off the bench. He won all seven of this lineout throws against the All Blacks last week.
