David Pocock included in the Brumbies touring squad

Brumbies Head Coach Dan McKellar has named a 28-man touring squad to South Africa and Argentina.

The Brumbies have welcomed star openside flanker David Pocock back from injury, who has been included in the touring squad to play the Stormers in Cape Town (20 April) and the Jaguares in Buenos Aires (28 April).

Pocock hasn't played Super Rugby in a month after aggravating a calf injury in mid-March and was close to a return last weekend but fell just short.

Brumbies coach Dan McKellar said on Saturday that Pocock would be invaluable whenever he does return to the 23.

"Poey's one of the few blokes in the country who can not have played for a long period of time and come back in and perform at an extremely high level," he said.

"His on-ball work but just the confidence he brings to the group. The opposition have got to worry about David Pocock.

"I think most teams would breathe a sigh of relief if he's not in the opposition."

Fellow backrower Locky McCaffrey has also been named in the 28-man squad for the trip despite coming off with a knee concern in the Brumbies' win over the Lions.

Pocock is one of five additions to the squad on top of the 23 that beat the Lions on Saturday night.

Lock Murray Douglas, prop Tom Ross and backs Mack Hansen and Wharenui Hawera will join the 23 for the trip.
