Ex-La Rochelle boss Patrice Collazo named as Toulon Head Coach

At a press conference today, Toulon president Mourad Boudjellal announced the arrival of Patrice Collazo as the club's new head coach.

Born in La Seyne-sur-Mer, Patrice Collazo had a brilliant career as a player that started at the Toulon and continued at Bordeaux, Paris, Gloucester, Toulouse, and Racing-Metro.

The former loosehead won two European titles with Toulouse (2003 and 2005) and made his test debut in 2000.

He began his coaching career by taking charge of the Espoirs team at Racing 92, before joining La Rochelle. During his time at La Rochelle the side was one of the most difficult sides to beat at home.

After 7 seasons with La Rochelle he has signed a deal with Toulon that will see him lead the side for the next three seasons.

Reports suggested that Fabien Galthie would leave the club following Collazo's appointment but he has taken up a new role with the academy.
