Exeter Chiefs extend their lead at top of the Premiership table

Exter Chiefs continued their dominance of the Premiership as they claimed 26-13 bonus-point victory over Leicester Tigers on Saturday with England boss Eddie Jones in attendance.
Leicester Tigers showed signs of fresh life under new coach Steve Borthwick but Exeter were brutally effective in their victory.
The Tigers drew first blood eleven minutes in through George Ford’s 45-metre penalty and it was soon doubled with Ford calmly slotting a drop goal.
Although they were behind, Exeter were constantly knocking on the door and eventually, Dave Ewers snuck over before the Leicester defence was split open by a well-worked set-piece move that saw Stuart Hogg sprint in for the try which Joe Simmonds converted from the touchline.

Exeter would take that lead into the break.

Exeter took the game to Leicester after the break as they dominated up front with hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie scored within two minutes of the restart with Joe Simmonds converting from the tee.
Again the pack produced with a forward drive bringing a penalty try, a bonus point and a 26-6 lead with Jordan Taufua going to the sin bin.
Jonny Hill was yellow carded as a Leicester penalty try to cut the gap to 13 points.
Leicester Tigers continued to press but their efforts went unrewarded as Exeter's defence remained resolute.
