Exeter Chiefs duo Sam Skinner and Dave Ewers could miss the defending Premiership champions' semi-final clash against Sale Sharks on Saturday.

Exeter Chiefs' powerful blindside flanker Dave Ewers was cited for a high tackle.

The incident was closely examined by the matchday officials during the game, with referee Karl Dickson only deeming the tackle on Sale full-back Simmon Hammersley worthy of a yellow card at the time.

However, the independent citing commissioner Paul Hull, disagreed and cited Ewers for the challenge. This was for a dangerous tackle on Sale Sharks' Simon Hammersley contrary to World Rugby Law 9.13.

The incident took place in the 33rd minute of the match.

The independent disciplinary panel for each hearing will comprise Jeremy Summers (chair) with Mitch Read and Olly Kohn
