Fiji Announce Team For Opening Game

Fiji have announced their team to play against England in the opening match of Rugby World Cup 2015 on Friday.

The Fiji starting XV has one change in comparison to the team's last match, a 47-18 win against Canada on 6 September, with Ben Volavola replacing Joshua Matavesi at fly-half.

Four of the XV - Sunia Koto, Leone Nakarawa, Sakiusa Masi Matadigo and Gabiriele Lovobalavu - started Fiji's last RWC match, the 66-0 defeat by Wales at RWC 2011.

Hooker Koto will become the first front-row forward to play for Fiji at three different Rugby World Cups. Akapusi Qera and Gabiriele Lovobalavu will also start matches for a third Rugby World Cup, one behind record holder Nicky Little, who played for the Fiji team at four editions.

Captain Qera will lead his team out for the 21st time and needs to score one try to equal his country's RWC record of four.

The record is currently held by two players including Vereniki Goneva, who starts at outside centre against England.
