French government clears Les Bleus of fault for their Covid-19 outbreak

"The protocol was respected" is the conclusion that the France Minister of National Education, Youth and Sports Jean-Michel Blanquer provided after she met with FFR president Bernard Laporte and Minister of Sports, Roxana Maracineanu.

Thus, Les Bleus have been cleared of fault following their Covid-19 outbreak. This comes after an investigation into the French national team after a COVID-19 outbreak with numerous reports suggesting that the restriction and protocols placed on the team were not respected.

" What is important to note is that in concrete terms, the health protocol has been respected but that we are never sufficiently vigilant," Blanquer explained.

Bernard Laporte, added: “ I was the first to say that it was logical for the Minister to request a report. We are under the supervision of the Ministry. I know a little since I went there ten years ago. For me, no one broke the protocol, not even Fabien Galthié. But to be clear, we have to go further. The recommendations issued by the Ministers therefore seem logical to me. "
