George North set for Ospreys return

Wales' back George North is set to make his return from injury for Ospreys this weekend after a year on the sidelines.

The 102-cap Wales international ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in April last year which ultimately denied him the opportunity of making a third British and Irish Lions tour.

Ospreys head coach Toby Booth all but confirmed North's return ahead of the United Rugby Championship match against Scarlets at the Liberty Stadium.

"George is available,” said Booth

"That's the exciting part."

“His injury hasn’t been straightforward,” Booth added.

“We can only be governed by how the player feels, how the player reacts, and we’ve finally got to a situation where George's body is good enough to back up the training he requires to perform well. So, from that point of view, he’s available.”
