Gonzalo Quesada, Head Coach of Italy’s Men’s National Team, has announced the 33-player squad for the Azzurri’s training camp in Verona, beginning Sunday, January 25, as preparation for the 2026 Guinness Six Nations.
The squad largely retains the group that defeated Australia and Chile during the Quilter Nations Series last November and impressed against South Africa. Samuele Locatelli, Zebre Parma midfielder and 2024 Serie A Elite MVP, earns his first call-up, along with Damiano Mazza. Paolo Odogwu and Matt Gallagher return to the squad, while Alessandro Fusco is also included after joining the team late last November.
Training begins on Monday, January 26, at the Payanini Center in Verona. Quesada and captain Michele Lamaro will be absent due to commitments at the tournament’s international launch in Edinburgh.
Italy will train in Verona until Saturday, January 31, before moving to Rome. The Captain’s Run is scheduled for Friday, February 6, at 11:45 a.m., with the Azzurri opening their 2026 Six Nations campaign against Scotland on Saturday, February 7, at 3:10 p.m. at the Stadio Olimpico. The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sport.
