Heyneke Meyer confirms his coaching staff for 2018/19

Stade Francais' new head coach Heyneke Meyer has confirmed his coaching staff ahead of the 2018/19 Top 14 season.

His staff has a Springbok feel to it with two of the coaches having worked with Meyer when he was the Springbok coach.

Pieter De Villiers will takeover as the new forwards coach and makes his return to his former side that he represented as a player between 1995 to 2008. De Villiers was Meyer's scrum coach during the 2015 World Cup. He recently left the Springbok staff to sign a two-year deal with Stade Francais.

Former Munster scrum-half Mike Prendergast has been announced as the club's new attack and backs coach. The highly regarded coach has also been handed a two-year coaching deal with the Paris-based club with an option on a third season.

John McFarland has been appointed as the side's new Defense Coach. He spent 10 years with the Bulls as an Assistant Coach and joined the Springboks in 2012 as a Defense Coach.

McFarland recently spent time in Japan with Kubota Spears in Tokyo as the club's Assistant Coach and joins Stade Français on a two-year deal.

Julien Dupuy will be responsible for skills, strategy and recruitment while Robert Mohr remains responsible for Sports Development.
