James Ryan a doubt for the Autumn internationals

Leinster's 10-0 win over Connacht on Friday evening looks to have come at a cost.

Ireland international James Ryan limped off the pitch in some discomfort after twisting his knee awkwardly at a ruck.

With Andy Farrell set to name his squad for the Autumn internationals next week, Ryan now faces a race against time to recover for the tests and the clash against Munster next week.

Speaking after the match Cullen wasn't able to give a clear picture for the extent of the injury saying that 'Ryan came off, just sort of twisted his knee awkwardly. Again, we'll see how that is.'

The second rower is not the only concern for Leinster as new signing Jason Jenkins missed the game due to a knock he picked up in the week.

The bruising encounter at the Sportsground saw Jack Conan pick up a facial injury while Josh van der Flier injured his ankle.

Leo Cullen did explain that Tadhg Furlong's substitution was planned and they just wanted him to 'get through 40 minutes rather than get him to come back out again.'

Ireland's Autumn internationals kick off in three weeks when they host South Africa at the Aviva Stadium with tests against Fiji, and Australia following.
