Japan v Ireland: Tupou Receives Ban for Tip Tackle

Sunwolves centre Will Tupou has been banned for three games for a tip tackle, on Devin Toner, late in the game on Saturday.

Tupou was cited independently after the heavy defeat to Ireland in the Ecopa Stadium.

Japan's options in the centre have been further depleted with the loss of Tim Lafaele in the run up to the Shizuoka Test - it leaves Japan head coach Jamie Joseph struggling in midfield.

Japan will also be without number eight Hendrik Tui and outside back Shota Emi, both injured, forcing Joseph to call up New Zealand born Luke Thompson and Shokei Kin.

Ireland's injury report looks healthy enough with only Luke Mc Grath struggling with an eye injury from Saturday. Simon Zebo took part in training today though it was no more than a walk-through in a local sports centre as part of their recovery from the weekend.
