Kieran Hardy out of remainder of 6 Nations

Welsh scrumhalf Kieran Hardy will take no further part in the Six Nations competition, having been ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Hardy scored a try in Wales’ Triple-Crown defining match against England last weekend and will be a significant loss to the Welsh camp.

"Kieran has been released from the squad due to a hamstring injury suffered in the game versus England on Saturday," the WRU said.

"He will continue his rehabilitation back at the (Pro14 side) Scarlets."

The Welsh are in a strong position to take the title this year. They face Italy in Round 4 – a game they can realistically hope to derive 5 points from – and then a much tougher battle in the form of France in Round 5.

Head coach Wayne Pivac has three options left at scrumhalf. It is possible that Tomos Williams could make a return in Round 4 after picking up an injury in the first round. The other back-up scrumhalves on the scene are Gareth Davies and Lloyd Williams.
