Jean-Luc du Preez ruled out of Springbok tour with a fractured ankle
Du Preez was named in the Bok touring party on Sunday, but x-rays have since revealed that his ankle is fractured and he will play no part in the tour where fixtures against Ireland, France, Italy and Wales await.
No decision has been taken on whether or not Du Preez will be replaced for the tour.
Wasps sign Nizaam Carr on short-term deal
Wasps have signed 26-year-old South African back row Nizaam Carr on a three-month contract as injury cover.
Having helped Western Province win the Currie Cup Final on Saturday, Stormers’ back row Carr is due to join Wasps this week to provide extra depth following back row injuries at the club.
Mullan, Daly to miss England training camp
Wasps prop Matt Mullan and wing Elliot Daly will miss England's week-long training camp in Portugal after sustaining injuries during the Premiership club's 38-22 win over the Northampton Saints on Saturday.
Daly, who was part of the British and Irish Lions squad that toured New Zealand earlier this year, was substituted after suffering a knee injury while Mullan, who has 17 caps for Eddie Jones' side, picked up a knee problem.
Taufua sidelined for 12 weeks
Tasman and Crusaders number eight Jordan Taufua broke his arm in Saturday's Mitre 10 Cup final.
Tasman lost 35-13 to Canterbury in Saturday's Mitre 10 Cup Final in Christchurch and Taufua was replaced in the 41st minute due to his injury.
Tasman Rugby Union chief executive Tony Lewis said the 25-year-old had an operation on Sunday and may be sidelined for up to 12 weeks.
Southern Kings injury update
According to the team doctor Clement Plaatjies, there were a number of injury concerns in the camp with the most notable of these was the concussion suffered by debutant flyhalf Martin Du Toit.
The flyhalf, who was called up as a replacement for first-choice flyhalf Kurt Coleman and backup Pieter-Steyn De Wet, will now definitely miss the Kings next match against Ulster as a result.
King also confirmed that both wing Alshaun Bock and prop forward Rossouw Dr Klerk were experiencing discomfort with shoulder pain and that loose-forward Ruaan Lerm had a stiff ankle.
