Toulon record shock loss vs Brive

Three-time European champions Toulon were beaten 25-21 by Brive on Sunday, with the loss marking their second defeat at home in more than two years.

Brive, who have the smallest budget in the Top 14 league, had not triumphed at Mayol in more than a decade.

Toulon are down in ninth after two defeats in their opening three matches.

Waikato retain Ranfurly Shield


Waikato retained the Log o' Wood for the fifth time this season, with a 19-10 victory over Manawatu in Hamilton on Sunday.

The Mooloo men applied the pressure and the Manawatu's defenders couldn't hold it off.

Leicester stay afloat

On Friday night Leicester Tigers made a remarkable comeback to beat Gloucester at Kingsholm.

Gloucester recorded a 31-7 lead but the Tigers scored four second half tries including a last minute try to win 38-31.

Sharks lose to Western Province

A number of masterful performances saw Western Province triumph 34-27 over the Sharks on Saturday.

Despite the loss, the Sharks remain atop the Currie Cup log, just one point ahead of the Free State Cheetahs.

Western Province move up to sixth on the log with 12 points, level with current champions, the Golden Lions.
