After their tough, victorious encounter against Bristol last weekend, Wasps travel to Kingsholm where a bruised and battered Gloucester outfit await the challenge.
The Cherry & Whites were caught unawares in Round 1 when a hitherto struggling Leicester Tigers started their campaign off with a bang, posting a well-deserved 39-15 win.
Gloucester looked asleep in a first half that was all Leicester; the former dotting down their first try in the 48th minute. Much more was expected from George Skivington’s charges and their fans will be hoping that they give a better account of themselves in this round, though they face the mighty Wasps.Wasps were pushed to within their limits in Round 1 as they were forced to contend with a fired-up Bristol Bears outfit who very nearly pulled off a victory against the 2019-20 finalists.
While Wasps can count themselves fortunate to have come away with four points, they may also be grateful that Bristol have put them into a fiery and competitive mindset which will render them difficult to contain during Saturday’s 80 minutes.
If Gloucester wish to stand a chance against Wasps, they will have to make a much better start of it than they did against the Tigers.
