REACTION: How players reacted to their inclusions in the Lions Squad

Every four years, players from all Home Nations eagerly await their name as the British and Irish Lions touring squad is announced.

This year Warren Gatland threw in a number of surprises in naming the squad, we take a look at how some of the players heard and reacted to their inclusion.

Starting in Wales, Wyn Jones rushed to his card to await his name after a training session with the Scarlets. The prop didn't even bother showering.

It might be a loosehead prop trait to rush to the car because that is exactly what Rory Sutherland did too after his training session with Edinburgh despite pleas from the Edinburgh's media guy.

Staying in Scotland and Ali Price just couldn't stop smiling!

Price's clubmate Zander Fagerson was a bit more composed, not much!

Back to Wales and Ken Owens' son Efan and his classmates were ecstatic to hear Ken's name was readout.

While Simon Zebo voiced his disappointment for Keith Earls and his contrasting reaction for Finn 'white chocolate' Russell.

Over to England and Chris Boyd had the honour of informing Dan Biggar and Courtney Lawes of their inclusion in the squad.

Maro Itoje expressed his excitement to go on tour again and is looking forward to passing on the Lions mascot 'BIL' to the new youngest player of the tour l.

Anthony Watson and Taulupe Faletau were cheered by their Bath teammates as their names were read out.

While the most exciting reaction came from Gloucester as Chris Harris' name was called out.

Finally, the captain was on hand to give his reaction as he revealed that he had missed Warren Gatland's call to ask him if he would be the captain.

"I missed the phone call because I was doing something at the back of the house

"I sort of knew what it was about so I called him back!

"He said ‘I’d like you to lead the lions'.

"I saw his interview earlier, It wasn’t apprehension and I wasn’t playing hard to get, but there was a bit of a pause.

"To hear those words is very special. I was more than happy to accept."
