The Dragons have officially announced that Wales and British & Irish Lions star Jamie Roberts has signed a new contract at the region.
Newport-born Roberts has put pen to paper on new terms to extend his successful stay with the Men of Gwent.
The powerhouse centre, capped 94 times by Wales and a key figure the 2009 and 2013 British & Irish Lions tours, returned to Wales in August last year and has been in outstanding form for Dragons.
The 34-year-old has made 13 appearances in all competitions, scoring four tries, while utilising his vast experience to help mentor the exciting next generation of talent coming through at the region.
Dean Ryan, Director of Dragons Rugby, said: “We’re delighted that Jamie is going to be around for another year and that he can continue to make a big impact in our environment.
“His form this season has been outstanding and he has been a catalyst for others to raise their game around him.
“His experience has also been invaluable in stabilising younger players in our squad and they can now continue to benefit from working closely with him.”
