RWC2023: These FOUR teams have been eliminated

With Rugby World Cup 2023 in full swing, a look at the latest pool standings shows that FOUR teams have already been eliminated from the playoffs.

In Pool A, Namibia finished bottom of the group, winless in their four matches. The African minnows faced a daunting task having been drawn alongside hosts France, New Zealand, Italy and Uruguay.

Namibia, coached by Allister Coetzee, only scored 37 points in their four matches and conceded 255.

Meanwhile, in Pool B, Romania have been eliminated after just two matches. The Romanians lost 82-8 to Ireland in their opener and 76-0 to South Africa in their second match.

Romania have matches against Scotland and Tonga remaining in order to restore some pride. Finally, in Pool D, Samoa and Chile have also been eliminated.

Samoa’s most recent 28-22 loss to Japan means they are mathematically unable to finish in the top two in the pool with their final match against England on 7 October remaining.

Chile, meanwhile, lost all four of their pool matches against Japan, Samoa, England and Argentina. Chile scored 27 points and conceded 215.
