The end of the Rugby World Cup usually sees a lot of player and coach movement and 2019 is no different with a number of rumours breaking throughout the day today.

We recap some of the top rumours doing the rounds.

Nienaber to replace Erasmus

Following the Springboks World Cup-winning campaign, Rassie Erasmus is set to step down as the head coach of the national side and continue in his role as director of rugby.

According to Netwerk24, Erasmus’ long-time friend and colleague Jacques Nienaber is primed to take over as head coach.


Montpellier to sign Saints' Bok scrumhalf

French newspaper Midi-Olympique, have linked Northampton Saints and World Cup-winning scrum-half Cobus Reinach with a move to Montpellier.


The Springbok scrum-half will not come cheap with Montpellier reportedly offering him a €580,000 per season deal - more than €48,000 per month.



Overweight and late!

Stay with Midi-Olympique, the paper has reported that Ben Teameifuna has returned to Racing 92, from the Rugby World Cup in Japan, 20kgs overweight and will only be selected if he drops his weight back down to 140 kgs.

The paper has also reported that Leone Nakarawa has not returned to Racing 92 following his 2 week vacation afforded to him after the World Cup.

The paper goes on to say that he has not contacted the club and has not answered their calls either.

The Irish Times has linked Damian de Allende with a move to Munster following his stint in Japan with Panasonic Wild Knights.

He would link up with the club on a two-year deal ahead of the 2020/21 season.

The Irish Independent has also linked the World Cup-winning centre with the Irish Province while also saying that his teammate RG Snyman will also join the club.

Hartley to make retirement call?

Northampton Saints are 'in discussions' with Dylan Hartley to call time on his career according to a report in The Rugby Paper.

The former England captain capped 97-times has not played since last December due to knee issues.

However, the Rugby Paper claims it is the 33-year-old's concussion issues that are 'placing his career in doubt'.

Williams linked with Wales and France moves

Another report in the Rugby Paper has linked Wales and Saracens outside back with a move to Ospreys and Toulon.

The Paper reported that Saracens are 'not confident' in keeping the Wales international who signed a three-year deal at Allianz Park ahead of the 2017/18 season.
