Warren Gatland backs calls for extra time

British and Irish Lions coach Warren Gatland has supported calls for extra time if Saturday's deciding test is level after 80 minutes.

The series is currently tied at 1-1 and a draw on Saturday would see the Series finish all square as it did in New Zealand four years ago.

Gatland is open to the idea of playing on until a winner emerges in the third Test.

It's understood that there is no provision for extra time this year either but when asked if he would support such a move, the Lions head coach told the Telegraph: “Maybe that’s something that someone can talk about over the next few days, about whether we do potentially go to extra time if it is a draw. That’s not a bad idea."
